Ageism

Ageism is prejudice or discrimination against a person because of their age. In the workplace, ageism often affects older people. However, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) outlaws ageism in the workplace against people aged 40 or older. Although the ADEA doesn’t protect younger workers, many states have laws to safeguard those under 40 from ageism.
