Direct Reports

Direct reports are employees who report directly to someone higher up in the organization’s hierarchy, usually a manager, supervisor, or team leader. The manager or team leader is responsible for assigning work tasks to direct reports and monitoring performance.

Direct reports will, in turn, have direct reports. For example, the sales manager responsible for a team of salespersons may report directly to the sales director.
